How do you water (frequency and quantity)?

What is the temperature range in your location?

Do you grow indoors or outdoors or both?

I live in Phoeniz, AZ

The orchids are grown in my house on the window sill (south facing)

I water once a week with a 20-20-20 fertilizer

The temp in the room is about 82 F

The plant is in a pot with bark.

Humidity is about 40%

So, is the blackness confined to the sheaths (sarongs) surrounding the new pseudobulb or does it extend to the new leaves? Are other orchids growing in the same conditions OK.

Strange, I always thought this condition came on from too much dampness with cool conditions and not enough air movement

This blackness is confined to the actual growth and no other tissue is affected. None of the other orchids have this problem. Thnaks.
