Zone 5 advice - Jackmanii?

I lost both my Hagley Hybrid clematis over the winter. They were a few years old and bloomed well in 2015. I cut them in late winter to 7" and there is nothing coming up. (To be honest, I never liked the pale color.)

I want to plant a Jackmanii. (My mother-in-law had a beautiful one so it is a sentimental choice.) Any suggestions on a complementary color or should I plant it in between and trail up both trellises? Or get 2? (I have a white Duchess of Edinburgh so I don't want another white.) My MIL's was was enormous, but I think mine will be smaller since my fence faces north. It gets morning and afternoon sun, plus mid-day sun once it gets above the fence.
