Lilac Vine Problems

So last year I planted several lilac vines. Some have done well and others have not grown at all and look pretty sad. I don't know if they are getting too much water or not enough. The ground around them is not dry and I have a few weeds growing around them so I don't think that lack of water is the problem but I could be wrong. I attached a picture of some of the leaves of one of the sad looking vines. I am in the Phoenix area and they don't get full sun all day. Any suggestions?

Maybe try an Ironite/Super Thrive cocktail. Use a watering vessel to mix up the cocktail then drench the area. Wet the soil first, add the cocktail, then water a bit more to distribute. Might help.

Good idea about Super Thrive, it's great for reviving distressed plants. I water my snail, lilac and trumpet vines every other day. This time of year it's good to be consistent on watering. If you are allowing your vines to dry out too much, then watering, it seems to weaken the plant.

Super Thrive or Moon Juice (Moon Valley Nurseries) might help. Your vine looks like it might be getting too much water. Also, poor soil quality could be the culprit. You can purchase soil additives at local garden retailers.
