I've been using this grid/watering method for the last three years and it's been awesome. I use the cheap bamboo poles you can get at most garden/home stores. I lay them out in a grid and double zip tie all of the spots they intersect. I then zig zag my soaker hose under the grid and zip tie it to the grid to secure it in place. Both the grid and hose are essentially floating at ground level. At the end of the season I can remove any trellis/cages and lift the entire grid out as one big piece to overwinter in the garage. (Our winter would destroy a hose outside.) The picture you see is from year three with the same hose/grid. Hope this helps someone. :)
