Any model number/name?

Not sure what the model # is, it's a used Toro step through frame. rear engine model with Briggs & Stratton motor, are there any known issues with motors, drive train or power takeoff? I need a smaller rider to fit through my fenced in yard. The gate is 36", an I have some 10-12 degree slopes. I've looked at the Troy Bilt and the Cub Cadet C30? Similar to them. Any info I can get will be helpful in making a decision to purchase used or new. Thanks. The price differential is worth looking at the used Toro compared to the new Troy Bilt.

Thanks for any info.

John

Snapper Rear Engine Riders have been around forever and have a strong following. However, they ain't cheap. Might be worth a look. You do realize that most of them don't have a hitch and aren't meant to tow garden carts, aerators, etc.

Good luck,

Ev

Yes thank you, I don't need to tow anything, just have under 1/2 acre and don't want to walk behind up hills anymore.

I second exmar's nomination. Snapper RER has been around for at least 30 years, using the same basic design and build. My mother had one for over 25 years; it was used and abused by many grandchildren during those years, and just kept plugging along. Not pretty, not sexy - just a solid-built machine. A new one will run you $1200 - $1600 or so, depending on size and electric-vs-pull start.

The Toro rear engine riders are great if you can find a used one in great condition. otherwise, let it be. The 25 and 32" rear engine riders haven't been made in many years.
