I planted Oregon Sugar Pod II and was also shocked when I picked one yesterday that it was not sweet at all. I think mine was slightly too small though so I am hoping they will be sweet today or tomorrow.

check your soil. If you planted your peas in the same spot as last year perhaps your peas used up many of the nutrients that your peas need for good flavor this year.
