1) They seem to have the will to survive. Just give it a bit of TLC and it will likely be ok. Plant it high and keep the bulb itself dry. Water around the bulb not over it.

2) 8b? Texas, FL, or LA? I'm in 8b (TX). I'd still suggest fall when they aren't actively growing.

Your bulb is likely fine and could have gone into dormancy to cope w/shock of being yanked. Ive done the same in the past and put the bulb back and left it alone. Dont worry. As for dividing, I do it when its convenient for me, not necessarily for the plant. The worst that happens is that I miss a bloom period. Im OK with that.

1) The bulb should survive if you keep it warm and dry. Try to forget it for some time, this seems to help better then to look to much after it.

2) I prefer transplanting after the flowering, that means actually when they are actively growing. So they could grow their roots into the new potting mix and get established. This is just how it works for me, not a question of right or wrong. You will find out what you (and your bulbs) like.

1. What is the purpose of the cinnamon? I would trim the leaves and roots and peel back the layers till the "squishy" part is gone. After that I'd let it dry for a few weeks before replanting.

2. I would wait until fall to divide the bulbs, to maximize their growing time. However if you need to move sooner, you can, it shouldn't hurt them. They are tough little plants.

Cinnamon is a natural anti fungal. A lot of people don't have access to Captan powder.
