We need to id them before we make any comments. Please show us those pictures. Personally I think staking most bulbs would be hideous.

They are Gladioli (singular is Gladiolus). Officially they grow from corms, rather than bulbs. They are often top heavy and need staking because they have been bred for large flowers rather than sturdy plants. Wild glads have no trouble standing up. I was thinking you had planted things like daffodils or tulips.

Besides needing to be staked, but I also have read that if you plant the corms a little deeper, that helps to keep some of them straighter, too, since the ground helps stabilize. That's not to say they still won't need staking but at least it can help a bit.

However, not so deep that they have trouble coming up and use too much energy to get to the soil top.
