Have you been watering it? If so, how often? Does the pot have drainage?

wilting can be caused by lack of water, or over watering. Over watering kills roots and the plant can no longer take up water.

Let us know how you've been caring of it and what has changed since its decline.

I actually was told to water it once a week every Friday with 24 oz of water. It has been the same routine that the other receptionist had been doing for 2 years but for some reason it started to look like this after the 3rd week since I started.

Sorry not 24 oz, I water it with 40 oz. of water.

Yes, I do check the soil before watering. And usually the soil is dry after a whole week of watering. The office temperature is usually 75 degrees so I'm not sure if it is affected by it?

A plant isn't a static organism, it's constantly growing and changing. There's a possibility the roots have expanded through the pot and may have blocked the drain hole. The soil could be soggy at the bottom. Does water run out the bottom of the pot after you water it?

No water runs out of the bottom after watering it. I was informed that the tree is on a wick system. There is a watering reservoir that I am suppose to put the water in, and not directly on the top of the soil.

I'd anticipate problems with that set up. Can you see the water in the reservoir? Is the reservoir a separate container under the pot or is it part of the pot?

So much easier to just water the plant when it needs it an forget about any wicks or reservoirs. It may be standard advice to let the soil dry to some depth, but Rhapis palms have relatively poor drought tolerance. They reluctantly show under watering damage, and when they DO..., it is often too late. I would grow it in a more conventional container. Then, when you do water, drench the plant (no need to measure it in ounces), then wait for the the soil surface to begin to dry somewhat before dewatering. Also, what is the light exposure..., they are not the biggest sun lovers and direct sun can burn them if not acclimated.

Could me trimming the brown ends of leaves be a problem too?

you should start your own post.. and include pix of your plant.. if you want good suggestions..

otherwise... watch a bunch of these.. and propagate the high growth points ... then cut it down to about a foot and see if it will rebud down low .. and if it does.. repot it in mid to late summer ...

Rhapis excelsa is a clumping palm. New stems grow up from the base. Stems that get cut off at the top will die. So it's a matter of completely removing a stem or leaving it completely. Nothing in between. Anything cut off the top can't be used to start new plants.
