I was quite taken with this pink. But spring blooms have had those brown edges as in from rain or thrip? I will look for the blue or yellow disposable cups, oil them, put on top of sticks and see if that takes care of the problem. This is one of the few unscathed blooms.

And why is no one showing Wisley 2008? Is it a terrible rose? TIA

I have the same problem with Betty White as you can see by the rose that's on the top left. I think it's thrips but the problem seems to get a little better as the weather gets hotter and dryer so maybe it's a problem linked to humidity? I took this photo this morning and I think there's less damage now than earlier this spring.

I love BW's strong fragrance but with so many petals stuffed together, the blossoms seem get mushy or squishy? I'm thinking of gifting her and getting another rose equally fragrant in this color that won't be a thrip magnet. Might be hard to find though!

Lovely bloom. I passed on this one a few years ago and now I am sorry I did, Not an easy rose to find in my area. Love the soft color and the many petals. Beautiful.

Lovely bloom. I think it's probably thrips. I have them all over the place. Wish I could help you with WISLEY, but that's one DA I don't have.

Exactly Ann. Your top left bloom is exactly the same as mine. It seems the first flush is susceptible. Your pictures show very well the unusual (to me) shade of pink of this rose. And the size of the blooms!

Suebelle, you may be glad you passed.

Shoot Beth. I have read conflicting results with Wisley 2008. None live in CA. I think I'm having a pink attack after all the beautiful bouquet pictures by you know who.

Yes, same thing happens to my Betty White. But it sure is a vigorous rose!!

Your picture is gorgeous!!! When Betty White is good...she's great!! And there are so many flowers too!

I'm having problems finding blue cups. But I'm definitely going to find some and try that out. Whose idea was it - I remember seeing the post, but can't remember the OP)?
