question on blueberries

Hi all.

I have two different types of blueberries, both in large pots right near each other. I think this is about Year # 3 ...maybe Year 4?... for both plants.

I think last year was my first year with berries on the plants, though there weren't many berries...maybe just 12 or so in total. ;-)

At this point, one of the shrubs has many ivory flowers, many of which are becoming more of a deep pink/purple color. The other shrub however, has no sign of any flowers. In addition, this other shrub developed a lot of new growth/leaves over the past month or so (versus developing any flowers).

I added evergreen needles as mulch, to the tops of both pots, over the winter. Then around mid-April, I gave both plants a spray of water mixed with fish fertilizer. And lastly, about a month ago, I added a small amount of diluted ...er...was it ammonium sulfate?...to make the soil a bit more acidic?

In any case, should I be concerned that at this point the second plant has no sign of flowers, or do some types of blueberries simply flower later than others? Is it possible this other plant got too much ammonium sulfate which caused the plant to create more leafy growth and as a result, it had less capacity to produce flowers? Is there anything I can potentially do at this point to help with the process of flowering?

Thanks!
