Why are the flowers turning white?

I bought this AV and the flowers were a pretty purple(which some still are). Some of the flowers are turning white from the center outwards. Are they just done blooming and dying or is there something wrong? The rest of the plant looks overall healthy. I'm waiting until it's done flowering before I decrown it.

The lighter color blossoms seem to be smaller. Probabaly it is the variety that opens lighter - and and as they mature and spread their petals, the color becomes more intense. Sometimes it happens when the AV is sick or goes through some culture break - but yours seem to be very perky.

What do you mean by decrown? Cut the crown off? But why?

Hopefully she means removing spent blossoms ...

Okay, so it's probably nothing to worry about and by decrowing I meant seperating the suckers/baby plants from the main mother plant.
