I got a worsleya a few months ago with no roots but a basal plate. ive been trying to root it since, but with no success. whether I dry it in open air or just stick it in the cocopeat im using, it always seems to get this dead, brown layer over it. when I peel that off I find healthy white tissue. like I said, no roots. im using rootech rooting gel on the bottom, don't know if its helping. how do I fix this? im pretty sure theres still a few layers of basal plate left, and the plant looks like it still has some fight left in it. i have it in a plastic container with a lid and about an inch of cocopeat on the bottom. the container is on a heat mat. should i leave that dead layer?
