like the algerian iris, they like to grow in a sheltered position at the foot of a south or west facing wall...in well-drained and not too rich soil.

And snails adore the foliage.

Mine are in leaf now. But they are not in a great spot. I don't have any sunny south facing walls.

In Texas they probably don't need the wall or the S. facing position.
