That happens to a lot of us. Just make certain they're kept watered while they wait. In fact, you might keep them in light shade, or dappled shade, which will reduce their need for water.

They sit around at the nursery like that until purchased, sometimes for months. As long as you give them the proper care, as outlined by Jean, they should be fine. Be sure to loosen the rootballs before planting to offset any potential girdling or circling that might occur from them being pot bound.

Blueberry bushes will need alot of organic matter (compost, peat moss) mixed into your soil before planting. You will also need an acidic soil (4.5 to 5.5). It would be better to wait until you have added the peat moss if you need to lower the pH before you plant. It is always better to have a good seedbed before you plant because you are limited on what you can do after you plant. I have grown my blueberries in 15 gallon pots going on 5 years without any problems. Waiting a few days will not hurt them as long as you do not let them dry out.
