Must have been an immature bulb. but it should bloom regularly from now on, Looks like it's planted inground. I'm assuming you are in z9 or warmer? if not, it may not come back due to not being cold hardy

I am in zone 7a, no idea how it survived in ground! I just wanted to give it a try in the ground, but now the winters are milder over here, probably that's why its able to survive in the ground and also I mulched it well in the winter.

Maybe the mulching saved your pretty. I plant them inground in z8 and they do not survive. Good for you!

Minerva has a special place in my heart, she was my first hippeastrum bulb. after three years shes starting to produce offsets. great job with this one, id love to have them in the ground but im too afraid of grubs eating them....

When I lived in TN -zone7- I grew Apple Blossom in the ground for many years with just a little extra mulch. It was always vigorous and loaded with flowers. Good luck with it.

Minerva will always have a special place in my heart, too. It was first bulb I started with, and I actually had it for over a decade before it finally gave up the ghost. It bloomed fairly steadily, too, as I recall, giving me flowers every year.

Being in zone 5, I'm forced to grow them as houseplants, but I don't mind. :-)

Thank you Haweha, I bought this from a store called Lowe's here and in the box, it said Minerva, but many people in the forum has told that many times store names for Amaryllis may not be the right ones. I see that you are an amaryllis grower, do you know the right name for this type of amaryllis? This is my first time growing amaryllis here in USA.
