Double retaining wall landscaping

Hi, we got these walls built which I can see from every room in my house. Watched the sun all year to see what kind of plants to install. Have a purple Japanese maple in the back with azaleas along the top wall. I'm not happy with what I planted in front of both walls. I moved a few mature hostas in the very front wall- I like the dark green against the wall. Along the back wall I have planted a small camellia, dwarf rhododendron, but that's about it. Each bed is about 15 feet in length.

Any suggestions on improvement ideas for the left and right areas of each wall? I like the 5 hostas (too many?) I get only part shade (less than 4 hours) on the entire area except full shade where hostas are. I'm in Atlanta, zone 7b and have horrible clay soil which I've been trying to amend. I would like plants that don't grow any higher than the wall (4 feet). Can send more photos if needed.

Thanks in advance!
