From what you explain of this tree. As long as the tree is getting 8hrs of sunlight it should do fine and warm temperatures.

Do you fertilize this tree? If so, make sure that it is getting fertilized with each watering, but not more than once a week w half strength. Any watering more often than 2x a week w plain water.

Fertilizer needs to have Boron in the Micronutrients (found on label ingred. list)

Thank you, I will fertilize it more often as it certainly has not been getting that much but the fertilizer I have does list Boron as an ingredient. After re examining the tree I found these black and orange bugs on it. From my reading it seems that these bugs mostly feed on the seed pods? I found 4 of them but could be more. I know these are not mealy bugs but when I looked up Boron deficiency I read about mealy bugs causing similar looking flower problems and am concerned. Will you look at these closer pictures of the flower buds/ and blooms for me. One of the larger flowers has a few black spots in it. I included the black and orange bug as well.

Nutrients may be the problem. If you can finds dyna-gro grow and tekt in your area I would use it twice a month. Th nutrients in the soil leach out over time so you haev to replace them. Not all fertilizershttp://www.adeniumrose.com are right for adeniums.

Mealy bugs would be visible. Are they one of the many Spider Mites which will cause defoliation. Leaves would only show signs of flecking if large numbers of mites.

The Dyna Grow Plant Pro 9-3-6 & Dyna Gro Plant Protekt 0-0-3 are wonderful. This is what I use on all of mine.

You have Oncopeltus fasciatus. They're very pretty bugs that feed on milkweed seeds. The adults themselves will not do much damage because they tend to scatter but when they lay eggs, the nymphs can be overwhelming. Fortunately, they only eat milkweed. I once spent an entire summer rearing these things. After that though, I never planted milkweeds again lol Too bad, I liked the plant.

Oh, btw, when in bloom, adeniums need much more water than what you would normally give them. Also, as a benchmark, I fertilize my adult adeniums every week at a quarter of the recommended dose. When blooming, I increase this to half the recommended dose. \

Thanks everyone! I bought dyna gro grow and tekt from amazon so it will be here tomorrow. Hopefully some buds will start surviving soon!

I have the same problem with my desser rose, the flowers doesnt bloom it turn brown and died.

You describe my plant to a T. I'm near Tampa same scenario with temp drop I i have 2 planted outdoors ,i covered them in moving blankets to protect them (not tight around ) next morning I uncovered and all flowers were dead and leaves eventually all fell off and stems shriveled up , I trimmed them both used some plant feed and coffee grounds and I have hundreds of buds but only a few have opened ,the rest brown and fall off also I notice the leaves are now curled , where as the second plant blooms all her buds just not as full.
