There is really no soil left. I think there are possibly 3 different names for this plant, Ayo, Jaboa, and Aubrytiana. Not sure of the spelling on that last one.

Barb, my noid sans looks like that. I bought it from Hirt's in the fall and it was called "Rare King Kongo snake plant". The picture looked like Masoniana but mine looked nothing like the picture and I complained and they refunded my money.

Thanks for adding your pictures everyone. I feel like we all have the same plant, I don't care too much what name is the right one, if there is such a thing. I hope mine grows up to be as pretty as yours. I repotted this morning, lots of healthy rhizomes so, now she's ready to grow. We are finally getting some warm temps and I am thinking it is time for the annual migration to the outdoors. Here's one more picture I took a few months ago, same plant. This one shows the patterning on the leaves better.

I love seeing plants break their pots. (not that I'd intentionally under pot for that reason) For me, it's a sign of strength. Like the Incredible Hulk tearing his shirt. I know my imagination is way to vivid, but...

Barbmock, I think it's obvious that Ayo and Jaboa are aubrytiana. I copied and translated a comment in German at the Sanseverix website, it simply said ''Ayo is aubrytiana!'' Like it was a revelation to find they're one and the same.

One could argue about cultivar names as to which is the 'right' one, but when it comes to species, there's only one botanic name. And the made-up names really confuse everyone, as this Jaboa and Ayo nonsense has, I mean it's even confused folks in Germany. Oh well, it ain't changing and we just have to deal with it.

Here's an update on my rescued plant. It has new soil and fertilizer and has been losing no time getting going. New pups coming up all over! I think it's going to be a big plant in a few months.

Looking good. If your plant is anything like mine, you're absolutely correct! It's time to repot him, but I don't want to disturb his growth. Seems like they literally grow like grass. I'm so glad you rescued it.

Katrina, I love your plant. I do think they are the same species. You are so lucky to find the nursery with all the sans. I could get into trouble there.

The only thing that saves me is that it's 1 and 1/2 hours away and they're only open 1/2 day on Saturdays. I just haven't had a chance to get back there. If they were closer, I'd probably have more Sans than money!

Here's a little update. This is the fastest growing sans I have ever grown. Remember last spring I rescued this poor thing in a 4 inch pot. Next spring it will go in a 10 or 12 inch pot! Notice the photo bomber in the background. Haha

That really grew a ton and it is a nice healthy full plant!! The photobomber is cute and looks very well cared for too!!!

That's princess Penny. She is so much fun.

Looks so much like my Princess Co Co that was also named Penny when we first got her. We liked Co Co much better. Ours is a Maltese.

I've had 2 Samoyeds and 1 large mix, but at 76 I'm not sure I could keep up with a Westie. The one on Westminster this week was a killer.

Oh, I didn't see the Westminster. Westies have a strong spirit all right. I had a hard time keeping up with Penny when she was a pup. She is 2 now and is more settled and behaves better. Really a nice breed.

Barb, While we are off topic, (sorry all). I just love your woodwork on the doors. Never saw something like that and just love it. I may do the same at my house.

When we got our dog, she was 4 years old and very well trained. In fact I had to spoil her and teach her bad habits.

Thank you Stush, That's the TV cabinet you are looking at. I have a struggle with Penny over those doors. She sees dogs or other animals and jumps at the cabinet. Sometimes I have to put up a fence around it to keep her from jumping. She's getting better.

I think it's fun to go off topic among friends.

I'm looking at the woodwork that looks like square post just above Penny's head. Funny you should talk about reflections. My mother had cats that for years got along and friendly until one day they crossed a mirror that was there all their lives. They had fits over the mirror that my mother had to cover with sheets. Made us think there were vampires in the house.

Oh yes, that woodwork. The guys that built the house came up with those trims on the posts. Penny watches the tv shows with animals. She loves the dog show, so she isn't seeing her reflection, but actually watches and concentrates on the animals. Sometimes she feels threatened and that's when the growling, barking and jumping gets out of hand.
