I am moving into a 2 bedroom apartment with a roommate that has a cat. The regular security deposit for the apartment is half months rent but with a pet it is a full months. If that cat isn't mine should I have to pay more with the security deposit? It is about a $400 difference if I paid half of the half months rent security deposit compared to half of the full months rent security deposit due to the cat.
