Oh Wow! I so adore your Highlight peony! That is the best picture of it that I have ever seen. Is there a reason why you don't like Mammoth Rose?

Karen, I may change my mind again, but I am less disposed to the big doubles than I once was. Also, this year, Mammoth Rose didn't hold up as well as I had hoped. Highlight has dependable bloom, but doesn't like hot sun.

Are the petals of MR easily bruised by rain? Some peony petals are so delicate. I also love your Princess Margaret peony. I got this peony last fall and was so looking forward to its bloom but only to find out that the vendor sent me a mislabel. I am so frustrated with mislabels. Here is a pic of it. Do you happen to know this peony's id? .

I have gotten mislabels even from reputable sellers (I don't consider Wild to be reputable; they routinely send things not true to name). It can be as long as three years before a peony blooms as a mature plant. That's a lot of time invested in a plant that turns out to be not true to name. (Your peony could be Paula Fay if it is an early bloomer.)

Princess Margaret has very large, somewhat flat blooms. Mammoth Rose is a very vibrant color, with blooms loosely formed, not perfectly rounded and somewhat flat. We had so much rainy weather that this is not a good year to judge things.

Thank you for the lead on Paula Fay! I think it maybe Paula Fae as it is quite early, blooming about the same time as my Lotus Bloom and Coral Charm.

I, too, have had issues with items from there.

Paula Fay multiplies rapidly, so I am not surprised that a vendor would substitute it. Okay, perhaps not intentional. Many people have had problems with Gilbert Wild.
