Too much rain!!

I'm gardening for the first time and I have 22 pepper plants at this point. They are all in containers because I'm currently renting so I don't want to/can't make a vegetable garden at this point. It has been raining almost every day for the past two weeks and it is aggravating. I have a light in the garage that has been doing well for some of the weaker plants, but I obviously can't put all my plants under the light. I have an awning on the south side of my house where I have currently placed the bigger pepper plants to avoid the rainstorm today (and tomorrow, and the next day, etc.) But they won't get much sun there, outside of maybe an hour or two a day (assuming the sun even comes out). The temperatures are supposed to be in the 80's for the foreseeable future, but I don't know if I should keep them under the awning to get minimal sun and minimal water, or if I should put them back into the elements and let them continue to get drenched and maybe get a little more sun.

What's the tradeoff here? Should I choose maybe a little more sun, but much more water? Or leave them under the awning so they can maybe dry out a little, but not get much sun? Any recommendations? They seem to be doing well, but some of them that I've left out in the weather have started to show signs of overwintering and I don't want it to get worse. But constantly moving them is a little inconvenient, but I don't really mind.
