Fortunately England still gets enough sun for plants to live and thrive. What we think of as being outdoors and needing sunny conditions, plants can still do fine on bright or cloudy days even if no sun is visible for several hours of the day.

However, growing vertically is related to gravity, not sun. I wonder if that plant is kind of weak-looking because of having too much water. It could be that you have recently watered it prior to taking the picture.

I bought it online in January but it came like that anyway if that's an issue?

I think that's just what they do with those wonky first pitchers.
