In September I cut the whole dendrobium cane with a kekei. I then cut the cane to a size that would tightly wedge it near the top of the pot. This allowed me to firmly lock the kekei in place, no clips needed. It also allowed the baby plant to continue to get moisture and nutrition from the wedged in cane. Mothers milk to a kekei. This allows the plant to adjust to the pot undisturbed while growing roots. As you can see a second cane has developed and all systems seem good for now.
