Just moved in and trying to makeover this space on a somewhat minimal budget. That being said, I don't want to skimp and have cheap looking lighting. What lighting would work best in the living, dining space, and kitchen?

- It'll be difficult to get can lights in ourselves, so to avoid electrician costs, was thinking modern track lighting in living (Houzz inspiration below)

- The hardwood 'dining' area is fairly large and accommodates a 6-8 table, but not sure a hanging light/ chandelier would be the best for the space?

- Kitchen - no thoughts except to have good lighting

The house is almost a blank slate, built around 2000. My style leans transitional / rustic. Have already redone hardwoods in provincial stain, removed wallpaper, in process of painting (ceilings white, lightened Revere Pewter on walls), and will be replacing carpet. Kitchen layout, counters, appliances are staying as is for now (budget).
