Basement bedroom

Moving into this house, and so the furniture will go (ha along with the awful carpet). This will be a guest bedroom, and I need ideas as to what to do as it is very boring and unwelcoming. Not sure if just paint or if like a shiplap wall behind the bed. Anyone good at design as I have tons of rooms I am just unsure as to what to do to make them great!
