This was an artisanal tile from a ceramicist who closed the business. I'm not sure where one would go to find a replacement. Better talk to some custom tile shops. Good luck!

It’s really pretty simple – when the soapstone is installed,
it’s a light grey color. You are advised to oil it, usually with mineral oil –
that will darken it and conceal oil stains from cooking. The plan is, oil it
once a day for a week, then once a week for a month, then once a month for several
months, and from then on, as needed.

High use areas will need more oil than underused areas, but
it all blends in. If you were not to oil it for a while, it would start to revert
to the pale grey it once was. It’s a living finish and needs some maintenance.
Soapstone works best for people who appreciate the irregularities of natural
materials or hand-made things. It is a very beautiful stone and not hard to
keep up, once you get the hang of it.

Christine, what kind of edge did you put on this soapstone countertop? Also, I thought I read somewhere that stone for countertops come in different thicknesses....if so, what would you recommend. Thanks, Connie

I've never known anyone to try a fancy edge on soapstone -- the whole point of it is the rustic effect. It's just a plain eased edge. Granite and marble will come in three thicknesses, 2cm, 3cm and 5cm. That would be 3/4", 1.25" and 2". Kitchens are almost always in 3cm, and bathrooms now too.

Sorry, I don't know the color on the walls. Your best option would be to take the photo to a paint shop and ask them to match it. Of course, it all depends on the light in the room when we took this shot. Good luck, and thanks for your interest.
