The size is right, stamens look right and it is fragrant but the petals look long to me, mine are more rounded. Mine isn't a vigorous grower, either, but that could just be the variety and my area. I think Frank or Jerry on ATP posted a gorgeous photo of Claire last year, you should look at that one. Don't know if he posted it to the database or not but he really should! I'd pretty much given up on mine before I saw his, moved mine to give it a better spot so maybe one day it'll grow up to be like his....

Forget about it, I guess it is not. I knew it was too good to be true. I looked at the clump where it originally came from ( very close to the red one) and it is too high to be CDL and flowers are too big, lovely though. I have to investigate further, thanks for help.

If it is very tall, it can be Winged Victory. That I grow but it is only one year old from a very small root. Maybe Creme Delight?

I will call it Fried Egg for a time being. Thanks for tip, Karen, but does not look like Wing Victory or Creme Delight - at least on googled pictures.

I just went to Edwards Gardens and their CDL plants do not have any buds. Is it a tricky plant?

Not tricky but it's a very slow grower for me, anyway. It came up every single year but only got my first flower around 3 or 4 years ago, it was in place 3 or 4 years before blooming. I moved it last year hoping full sun would be better, it got afternoon shade where it was, and the root ended up in 2 pieces so I'm back to a single bloom again. The pic shared on ATP made it look like an amazing plant, hopefully mine eventually gets to something similar...

Actually I was able to find CDL with a tag in EG and I guess it is what I have :), Identification complete.

I know you said that you already know the id of your single white peony. I am just wondering if your peony maybe a rare Moonrise peony by Saunders.

Thanks for tip, Karen. hard to say, I have to see the plant I guess. Flowers are similar, but my leaves are more narrow at the moment I think. It could change, of course - 1st year.
