Drying rhizomes

Curious if anyone has any Tips on drying irises rhizomes, orris? I dug up a whole lot of white irises from my flower bed, and after giving some to friends, I still have lots of rhizomes left. So I thought I would dry some. I've heard it takes at least 1 year but curious if anyone on here has some good tips on how to or ideas on what I could use for too.
