Weird cayenne pepper problem

last modified: 10 years ago

I have two cayenne pepper plants, seeds given to me, so don't know their provenance. One of them is compact, branching well and already has blooms. One of them is taller and leggy and I keep having to pinch it back, consequently, it has no blooms yet. I have a feeling these were not F1 seeds, and I'm going to be surprised at what I get, because the gardener who sent them to me grows many different kinds of peppers, some of the hottest ones included. This should be interesting.

I also have some volunteer seeds in a pot with reused soil that look suspiciously like either tomatoes or peppers. If they're tomatoes, I'll toss them, but if they are peppers, I'll keep them, because my other peppers are not doing so well.
