You know,this was the first time I tried D.nobiles in full sun for hours and hours. Its held up and the side canes have grown. All have kept the nice glossy green color. Laelia princeps is getting the same amount of light..and could use a slight reduction.

You never know until you try. Books say the opposite.

Stanoth, there is sun and sun. Books are like this forum, they are usually written from the writer's experience of climate and conditions.

Den. nobile is a beginner's orchid here and from my experience it doesn't like Glass-houses. Better under some light shade-cloth.

You should put your climate zone next to your id.

I have moved the Laelia princeps..its Cork bark mount is tied to a 25' King Palm trunk and the roots are just starting to meld on to the trunk. Less light..I think its happier.

The Dedrobium nobile is well up to full sun,11+ UV ratings,and June. I just shot it with fertilizer and the other Dedro next to it..only took 2 days to see greener flushing. Fish emulsion highly diluted.
