Looking good, Gill! I think that you have a white flower growing there in the last photo... Or least it could be.

And yes, adeniums do branch from where the inflorescences have fallen.

That's what I was thinking too, it is so very different...at the moment anyway! I hadn't read anywhere about Adeniums branching from where the old inflo has dropped, so thanks for confirming this as a possibility. Learning all the time :)

Well it's only a few days since I posted on this my second plant to gift me with its flowers. I'm pleased to report there's still no sign of any colour on the buds and they're progressing nicely :-) A couple more clusters have shown up too. Think this one is really on track for a white or very pale flower of some kind given this stage in the proceedings!

My plants have never been healthier, greener and in better health all round. Think it's due to the better fertiliser I found following advise from members here. Which reminds me, anyone seen Phil lately, as he appears to have dropped of planet Adenium? It was he who suggested I tried the Chempack 8 after I was having difficulty finding a good fert for them. Also, it seems to have cured those odd leaves on my Arabicums too, so thanks Martin, Rick, Phil and any others,(I forget who they may have been, sorry,) that got me going in the right direction with your good advise.

Congrats too. One of the first posts I remember reading when I was new here was about how your plants have not bloomed. I know this is momentous and you are on a roll!

Well one week further down the line and the suspense is getting the better of me so just I just had to post another update....this bud is going to pop real soon.....still no sign of colour, if anything, it now looks even paler than before when it looked pale yellow..... ;-)

Mmmmmh, well, not quite what I'd expected. Hopefully the later flowers will develop properly as this plants first ever bloom looks just like those we have seen before with some peoples plants and has that peculiar shredded form :-/ I've actually had to try and very carefully tease the petals apart with a cotton bud, it was opening at its base and the throat, but the second half of the petals were still fused tightly together. At least the colour is good, not pure white by any means, more lemony towards the centre:-)

Lemony white is good! That other bud looks more normal though. It might have started developing these buds when the plant was still malnourished from the previous fertilizer. I bet future flowers will be fully formed from hereon.

Hope so Pagan! Need the sun to reappear like a couple of weeks ago when we were sweltering here in Blighty. For the past week sadly its been daily deluges, warm temps and swirling mists arising from ground level. In fact it looks just like a tropical rainforest out the back over the woods and the valley....this is the June in the UK so what else should I expect?

I think Pagan is right about that. Or could it be a light issue (insufficient)?

I have seen distorted flowers myself, when I had my (large army of mature) adeniums and caudiciforms breaking dormancy. And congrats, Gill. As Pagan said: Lemony white is good! ;-) Keep us posted...
