I thought it was an oak tree but it's bark is different. It's been growing super fast. Could it be some kind of native cherry? Thanks again.

Thank you for your reply. Do you think it's native or some kind of invasive tree. I'm in central Florida if that helps. Thanks again.

It's not native,my nabor has 2 in his yard and picking out the babies from my yard takes most of my time to garden.I'm not a fan

Try posting on "Name That Plant" forum - they are very good there....

Name That Plant

Looks like my Camphor Tree........what's it smell like ? CoughDrops?

It doesn't have a smell, but if I crush the leaves it smells a bit astringent. Someone told me it might be an avocado, I did have some pits I planted in pots that went missing. I assumed squirrels ate them but maybe they buried one for me. The leaves are a bit small but idk. I was going to chop it down but I figured I'd figure out what it is first especially if it could be avocado. Thanks again I'll try the other forum too.

My first thought was avocado. Def. not a cherry-they all have serrate leaf margins.

Definitely a Camphor Tree, Cinnamomum camphora.
