I'm glad you are getting some sunshine. We have had a little on and off today, but still have a 50% chance of rain today and tonight. I'm hoping the rain doesn't happen. Starting tomorrow we are expecting sunshine and warming temperatures, and I am sure the plants will rejoice.

We had sun all morning. Went to start mowing about 1:00 and boom, out of nowhere it got dark and here came the rain!!!! Are you kidding me? Put the mower up came inside and the TV was on the softball World Series here in NW OKC and the sun was shining??? Crazy!!!

Was foggy here to start in Norman, but by 9 the sun was shinging as we ran errands in SW OKC & Moore. Finished errands at K&K to get sweet potatoes slips. Got home, unloaded and sat for a bit then BAM. At 2 it was light rain, then heavy torrential type rain. It quit by 4 and the sun was out. Rain, rain - go away! Come again some other day! It's going to take me forever to get the crab grass out of the raised beds!

Paula, I thought it rained out here. The streets were quite wet when we rolled back home from being in S. OKC. It was sunny and bright and hot this late afternoon. I was able to work in the garden for a couple of hours (yay) this afternoon. Even had to follow the shade. I tend to work where there's shade.

My plants will be so glad to see the sun. The sun came out here yesterday around lunch, and boy do my tomato plants need trimming up.

It was a beautiful day. Sunny and the wind was cool out of the North I was out all day. Just ran out of time,will continued tomorrow.

Cool temps and sunshine. Am I still in Oklahoma? I got caught up with my brush hog today.

I'm jealous, Johnny. I think it will be too wet here to mow for at least another week. We still have oodles of standing water in the yard, driveway, pastures, etc. but the standing puddles in the garden paths dried up today. Of course they did----we don't mow the garden paths, so naturally that's the one place that dried up. The mulch in the paths (or, what is left of it after the heavy rain washed a lot of in away) squishes like a sponge when I walk down a path, so the paths aren't dry--just not filled with visible standing water.

Even though it got warm this afternoon, it didn't feel as bad as I feared it would. The relative humidity and dewpoint dropped nice and low when the cold front came through, so it felt pretty pleasant here.

There's a tropical storm (Colin) headed for Florida. Tim flies to Florida for business meetings on Tues-Thurs. I told him to leave all that rainfall and flooding there and to not bring any of it back here with him. I know it is bad for me to be wishing and hoping for hot and dry weather, but I'm wishing and hoping anyway so we can dry up more quickly.

Right now, here, in Florida, we feel like yeah, the sun is hiding... and it is raining. Of course, the high tide is supposedly going to be 4 foot higher than normal....

We will see, how I like the weather here. ;)

What kind of soil do you have there? I will eventually wind up on the gulf coast near Gulfport, MS. I'm guessing the soil will be mainly sand. That will be a whole new experience for me.

Just came in a while ago. Boy did it get warm this afternoon!!! I had to stop working on my to do list, heat got me while I was trimming around one of the barns. I was on the wrong side and no air, went around on the north side set down and cooled off. Seems a little early for heat affect but I haven't had time to really adjust to any heat it's been so cool! Heaven forbid I should not get every item on my three page to do list done. Any one thinking OCD, yep I am the poster child.

Moni, hate to say it but you can keep the rain right there in Florida.

have wet hay to rake and bale and more hay to cut rake and bale. Not sure which way is up right now and rain is not welcome!

stockergal, I had a list for today too. It's not quite as extensive as yours nor do I need to cut, bale, or rake hay. BUT I haven't got everything finished yet either. The last 14 tomatoes that were sitting on my porch looking sad are now planted in their own little garden bed at ground level. There's lots of ants and now I've come to learn that ants mean aphids. Ladybugs are in the house (garden) though, so maybe the tomatoes will make it and be productive and do what they're supposed to do. If I didn't plant them too late.

A large pile of compost from the City of Norman sat where that little ground level tomato garden is now. I pushed the remaining compost aside and started digging. Wow. What a difference enormous amounts of compost makes. There's still clay a few inches down, but it was actually easy to dig.

Yes, it got hot. I came in around 1 and rested and did some laundry. Now I'm heading back out. It actually feels nice in the shade.
