    Thanks for the link.

For some reason, bringing plants in completely left my mind. All the ones who wouldn't survive 50 mph winds are indoors, and I SWEAR it's like there re more than before. . The less important ones are lined up against the west wall, whre they wil be safe. Picked the last few tomatoes, but I don't really have a clue what to do with the pots. They are soaking wet, so can't lift them. Was going to tear out two of the three anyway, so they'll have to take their chances. Sad, because the Black Cherry was just putting on blooms and I was looking forward to fruits. I'm sure this is going to tear the outside gardens to hell and back.

On a side note, I cannot get to the duck's nest to remove the eggs without getting down on my hands and knees in the mud. I just covered them over with leaves, so maybe they'll float away or they'll just rot. I'll deal with it after this storm has passed.

NOAA does not seem to have Alachua in the TS Warning, but all the weather channels do. I'm not taking any chances.

This is it, I think. They said it would come ashore about 8 p.m., and the wind and rain just picked up very suddenly. Scary in the dark. I heard a bang and saw that my courtyard gate was open, so I had to run out in the rain and wind and close it. Deja vu -- way back in 1989 or 1990, Marco came through Bradenton and the same thing happened, except that it was the storage room door and it was under the carport. However, I stepped out of the apartment into 3 inches of water. We had a lot of flooding with that one. The guy next door parked his car on the street so his roommate (an EMT) could get out if he needed to, and the water was up to his windows.

I am not a fan of nighttime storms. I may lose power. My internet modem has been cutting in and out all day. I'm posting this so if I disappear from online, you'll know I'm probably sitting in the dark reading by candlelight. LOL

It's pretty much right on top of us right now.

    Hang in there!

The black dot is approximately where I live. Radar from 12 minutes ago. Raining so hard it's deafening. I can hear things blowing around.

Not so much wind here in North Tampa but 6" of rain and it isn't over yet. I pulled some of my potted plants under cover especially my hoyas and a few succulents.

I hope everyone is ok. We've had it pretty easy around here the 10 years...I hope it remains so.

News up-date at 6am(June 7) says storms over tampa and a flash flood warning! I wasn't going anywhere anyway.

Since I don't have a TV, I don't really know what's happening locally except what I can find online. I know Levy County has flooding, and I would guess that some parts of Gainesville do too. Our summer pond is about 3/4 full now, and the ducks are having a field day. Soon there will be little babies swimming with their mamas.

No damage I can see here. The wind wasn't that bad. A few leaves down from the chiquapin oak, but other than that, I'm not seeing much around my apt. The banana leaves got torn a bit, but not shredded.

I'll keep the plants inside for a couple of days to let them dry out. They were soaking wet when I brought them in, and we're expecting more rain today, so I think they need a bit of a break.

So I made it through the night o.k. and am anxious to hear that everyone else is o.k. too.

Looks like we had 5.65 inches of rain. Well, guess I won't have to water the garden for a few days. LOL

1.9 inches of rain. The dock on the canal was in the water, but not under. The wind wasn't anything like I am used to from Oklahoma. My first tropical storm is over in my area, Port Charlotte.

more wind than I thought. a lot of twigs and leaves down from the crepe myrtle. all quiet now. But I think more to come. I'd like to go into Tampa (proper) but it always floods there so I'm thinking twice about that! Even plants under cover got some rain due to blowing wind.

Standing water in the yard when I looked out this morning. Our back porch is under a couple of inches of water & so is front. Nothing fell down yet, except one of my banana stalks bent over in half & cracked. It was just beginning to bloom, but I have 3 more w/ fruiting stalks that're holding up, so I'm not too sad about it.

Hubby predicts sun in 30 minutes....ha!

I know ... I did all that prep and this is all that happened here in Brooksville. lol

LOL! I have to take my plants out today. Every once in awhile, I hear a lizard scuttling about in there, at least I hope it's lizards, but who knows? Not real sure where Sam (the garter snake) is, so he may be in there too.

I swore I would have all this stuff planted by now so I wouldn't have to bring it in, but guess that's not going to happen until I get some more shade.

We just had a lot of rain and some broken branches. Our air conditioner quit working so it got kinda muggy in the house lol. Finally got someone out to fix it so its a lot better. The good thing is I wont have to water today, everything's still soaked.

The plants just always looks so happy after a big rainstorm. I think my papaya has grown six inches in one day!

Wow Sultry as muggy as it was it must have been awful to not have a/c. Thank goodness you got it fixed asap.

I know Dirty ... it's so nice to not have to water AND see all my plants so happy and growing like crazy! Of course, once it starts raining every day and things start molding and getting powdery mildew I won't be so happy. lol
