Before I scream at my decorator, carpet installers, construction crew and husband

And have a heart attack from being so upset, somebody please tell me if they were right, or how to fix this.

Situation: Carpet installers came today to put in new pad and carpet. When the laid it, they discovered that the front door was brushing against the carpet and the carpet was "too high". So instead of trimming the door (which would leave a "gap" and fixing the threshold, these geniuses decided to put in 3x3 wood flooring at the two front doors instead of carpet as I wanted.

Update: just talked to decorator. She said there's a strip on the bottom of the door that was catching on the carpet. I guess she meant the flashing. Couldn't the flashing just be removed?

I absolutely hate the little wood make believe foyers. When I step in my house, I want to step on my carpet. I dont want to slip on wood.

Any suggestions?
