Looks like a Dendrobium to me too, but can't say more than that.

I'm pretty sure it's a Den. I see them all the time at Home Depot and Costco stores here in Hawaii.

Google Purple Dendrobiums and you might be able to identify it.

Nice find. Most stores have gone all Moth orchids all the time.

It is a warm growing hard-cane Dendrobium. Easy to grow in tropical places such as Hawaii, Florida, Tropical Australia, South East Asia, a bit difficult elsewhere.

As for getting a name....the numbers are about 10,000 registered Dendrobium Hybrids. It probably does have a name known to the nursery where the orchid was produced. But providing a name would just add to the retail cost of the product so no name.

The closest I can come to identifying this is the picture of a Den at : carmelaorchid.com on the big island of Hawaii. Check it out and see what you guys think?

They have theirs labelled as: "Dream Ace". @ $12.00 but shipping cost is something like 30 bucks! ... and it's a small pot.
