I have a general idea of the type of lights we want in each room but does it make sense to hire someone to provide suggestions for the type of fixtures etc to use in each area of the house?

My vocab was limited to pendant, chandelier, recessed, sconce, under-cabinet floor and table lamps, until I recently saw cove lighting, valance etc
