Well, you're referring to Muscari spicata. Give it a try.

I found some at a nursery & repotted it into larger pots while I prep the area.

what about spurge?? or sedum? there is a type of sedum that folks called moss when I was a kid. it did well in the shade as well.

Don't know what spurge is, and all the sedums I'm familiar with, except the native woods sedum which doesn't seem to spread much, prefer sun. (They're also pretty shallow rooted.) However, other great plants for shade that might work include Geranium macrorrhizum (Big Root Geranium), Lamiums, and Epimediums, some of which are clumpers and some slow spreaders. There are others too, but these are more readily available.

'Spurge' is the common name applied to euphorbias and Euphorbia robbiae (Mrs. Robb's Bonnet) is an excellent and fast spreading evergreen ground cover for even heavy, dry shade. But it is only listed to zone 6 so likely will not be sufficiently hardy for you. Pachysandra terminalis is a great shade ground cover, hardy in your area, evergreen and recommended for erosion control. And it produces spikes of white flowers in spring that are attractive to bees.

I agree with gardengal on the pachysandra terminalis. It spreads fairly nicely after it gets established and grows well in shade. I planted some in my shade garden under a very tall lilac tree. A couple of season later, the six small plants I put in have now spread over the entire area. But it is not aggressive and hasn't choked out my other plants. Gardengal, I didn't know that the flower spikes were attractive to bees. That's great! I guess I never look for bees in the shade garden.
