This doesn't clarify anything at all. I have the same question- standard counters islands are 36" high- will this bench work for that?

Hello, thanks for your question. The defining difference is height. Bar height designs are slightly higher, typically featuring seat heights of 29 to 32 inches. Counter height stools are generally 24 to 26 inches high. Plan on leaving 10 to 12 inches of leg room between the seat and the bottom of your table for maximum comfort.

For standard kitchen counters and island (not a raised portion of an island), counter height stools with a seat height between 24 and 26 inches will be best.
