Baby Sissoo

Hi everyone! I have a small Sissoo, probably a year old, in my front yard and I've decided to keep it, but I want it to look like a tree with a long trunk, instead of the more bushy look I have seen with Sissoos. How do I trim the extra branches off to help it grow that way, and should I wait until it gets bigger to even do that?

Are you sure you really want a sisso???? The root of the sisso are very invasive. I had a large 2 story sisso that b damaged .my block wall and pushed up my pavestone patio. If you really want it i eould remove the 2 larger lateral branches and strip the foilage from the lower 6 inches of the plant

Good luck with sisso. Make sure you water it well. I would pay my neighbor to get rid of his. When they prune theirs we have these volunteers all over my yard, turns out sisso's roots are everywhere! Ooops, just noticed, the post was from June. Hope you are still happy with it :)
