Remove texture from walls

Has anyone done skim coating to remove the textured look from their walls? Can you post of before and after? Did you have to do anything else to the walls after skim coating?

    I do not have pictures but as a designer we have doen this to remove some textures and it looks good. you have to scrape it then skim coat. if you want a level 5 flat finish then no dont do it
