Help Identifying my Tea Set

last modified: 10 years ago

So, I love just about anything to do with tea.

Recently, one of my dreams came true; I came across a tea set at a local thrift store for a very low price!

I know it was purchased (and probably made in) South Korea, and I'm pretty sure at least part of the characters on the box translates to something like "Songak set", but I'd like to know a few things about it and I was hoping someone here could help with that.

1) Can I actually use it? The tea bowls that came with it are fairly small (approximately 2.5 inches in diameter), which leads me to believe that it might be decorative, but the inner walls of the bowls and the pot are smooth and the pot is actually capable of holding and pouring liquids.

2) Should I use it? Maybe that's a weird question, but I just wondered if anyone here would think it was worth it to use it.

3) Is it a mass-produced item or is it something a little more rare? I wouldn't mind if it were something like a souvenir set, but it'd be cool to know if it was made by a small company.

Thanks for any and all help!

Edit: I can't believe I forgot to add the picture!

I'm not sure if you can tell, but the picture on the box depicts it as being white, but it's actually a light green.
