Verawood - Bulnesia arborea - is a large tropical tree. The oldest one I've ever seen is in Fairchild Tropical Gardens in Miami. It's around 60 feet tall.
I have a much smaller one in my garden that threw a million seeds two
years ago. Just for fun and since I have the room I put a couple of
seedlings in 3-gallon cans and let them grow. One of them, a runt, never
grew straight up, instead it hung like a vine.

About a week ago, I chopped it back to within 8" of the soil and put it into a shallow clay pot. Here's a week's worth of new growth.
