Methods of Irrigation

A variety of irrigation methods are used in concert with
fertigation. Some of these types of irrigation systems and their benefits are:

Drip irrigation—less
wasteful than sprinklers. Drip irrigation delivers a slow and consistent supply
of water to the landscape through perforated pipes and soaker hoses.

Sprinkler systems—irrigation
from above is beneficial to the fruit and flora of a plant and it shows in
increases in leaf and fruit quality.

Continuous
application—water and fertilizer is supplied at a constant rate and more
aggressively than with drip irrigation.

Three-stage
application—irrigation starts without fertilizers. Fertilizers are applied
later in the process.

Proportional
application—the fertilizer injection rate is proportional to the system’s water
discharge rate.

Quantitative
application—the nutrient solution is applied in a pre-calculated amount to
each part of the system.
