The bulbs shouldn't matter. If you switched out the sensor for a new one I'd imagine it's the placement of the sensor itself. Perhaps ambient light from the house is affecting it. If you can't find a better sensor placement, one thing you can do is to switch out the switch for a timer switch. Something like this (which itself needs to be inside, though the light it controls could be outside), adjusts for sunset/sunrise times changes.

Thank you! I like this idea and will check it out. We've changed the sensor placement several times. So this may be the way to go.
