Your Kordes rose leaves are very clean. The Japanese beetles have destroyed Poseidon and South Africa. They look naked!

Great pics. Pomponella is quite impressive! Not only the bloom but the foliage as well - great shape and texture. Good idea grouping your roses by hybridizer - must have a look which Kordes roses I have.

'Fiji' and the purple salvia look excellent with one another. Isn't that frustrating when the camera will not catch the deep color? Sometimes as a bloom ages I get a better match. Guess I'd better give up the idea of 'Pomponella'. Here it would eat my house.

All are amazing. Do you grow Munstead Wood? I'm really wondering how it would coordinate vs. clash with Dark Desire. What a dream collection.

Pompanella is a BEAST in my garden. Had a massive flush but most were ruined by thrips. Some of the others I have and Pink Martini is on my list to get. Judy has already enabled me and now you take it a step further :)

I love Rosanna. The more I see it the more I like. I regret not buying it twice in a row. How does Rosanna compare to Laguna?

Rosanna has much larger flowers and thicker canes. Both Laguna and Rosanna are in their second year here grafted on multiflora. Rosanna is probably 7 feet tall and Laguna is probably 5 feet tall. I prefer Rosanna's blooms. Lagunas are sort of scrubby looking.

Thanks for your answer hcarnevale. I like the look of Rosanna better too. I wonder if it will be cane hardy in my zone. If not, I don't mind it as a shrub like Eden in my garden.

Yes, Pompenella just explodes into bloom--love it!--and yes, it gets tall and wide! I'm not sure why we start with the impression that it will be a "cute" smaller bush. People are always exclaiming over how large it gets.

You have some very lovely Kordes roses. I have a handful of some older Kordes roses--Eutin being the first rose I even planted and I still have 3 bushes of it now, all these years later. Valencia is another really beautiful Kordes rose that I have. You have some of the newer ones--good to see them doing so well in your garden.

I hope pomponella explodes in my zone too. I have a tiny baby one and I gave it room to explode. But then again roses rarely explodes in my garden.
