I saw a few plants Joni (I think) was selling on ebay grown like this, hanging from balls. One was H. davidcummngii, I am tempted to try mine that way but reluctant to change it out of its semihydro setup as it is quite happy there.

Kokedama (yes, this is the right spelling) looks like a fun way to grow. They will dry out faster than in pots, especially in plastic pots, so they probably need more regular watering, and/or a more humid environment. And they drip, of course, so it's not for my indoor space, regrettably.

Pretty much the same applies to mounting them on bark (or anything). Mike Dahms (https://www.flickr.com/photos/9707825@N07/) has grown at least a few species like that successfully. (H. loheri is one I remember).

I had a Curtisii I grew on a hunk of cork bark for a while. It did very nicely, but was too high maintenance for me, needing to be taken to the sink & watered daily. Eventually I decided that was too much trouble for me & I put it back into soil. The plant enjoyed it just fine & grew nicely but slowly.

Yeah, the watering would be wretched for me and I just know I couldn't commit to it. Shame though, as these sure are nice looking.
