Most rhododendrons can be started from cuttings although some are much easier than others. Lots of information online and in books for how to do this. Ground layering was once a common method of propagation, but is rarely done today. Newer methods and materials such as rooting compounds have made this awkward and slow method of propagation largely a relic of the past.

I was just curious if all rhodies were as easy to start as Vireyas; I guess they are. I ground layered an azalea about 50 years ago; awkward and slow sums it up!
