Well, for starters, why is it growing in water?

I grow my orchids in water culture, all of my phals are in semi-water culture so it was this guy's watering day. I only have luck with orchids if they're grown this way, lol.

Looks like you only have one small root. I would suggest potting in some bark and put in a bright window. Can't explain the leaf but the plant might be stressed.

Can't really advise as I've never grown orchids in water. It is not the way they grow, but I suppose it is possible.

When I repotted this plant in bark, it hated it. It fell out of the pot because all the roots but one died. All those new roots are because of water culture. Bark does not work for me, it always looks like it's wet while the roots are dry. Semi water culture gives me a perfect schedule and my orchids love it.

I was just wondering what the leaf growth was doing, because the tall one doesn't look like a regular leaf and a third one is coming out of the crown, not out of another leaf like normal growth does.

That makes a lot of sense, I was worried that something like a terminal flower spike was about to form but it was under a lot of stress. I guess it's all just a waiting game, and I'll enjoy my strange little orchid lol
